• Submitting a request to renew the Qatar ID must be done from within Qatar.
• The passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
• Submitting the old Qatar ID to replace it with the new ID.
• The grace period after the expiration of the Qatar ID is 3 months, during which the ID can be renewed without paying a late fee.
• The Qatar ID can be renewed up to 3 months before its expiration.
• The Qatari Ministry of Interior imposes a fine of 10 QR for each day of delay in renewing the Qatar ID.
• Renewing the Qatar ID card can be done through three main methods as follows:
  • Submitting the renewal application electronically through the Ministry of Interior’s website in Qatar.
  • Submitting the renewal application electronically through the Metrash2 app.
  • Submitting the renewal application in paper form by providing the required documents to the Passport and Nationality Department.
• The service for renewing the Qatar ID card is available for companies, citizens, and residents.

Required documents to renew Qatar ID

Here are the required documents to renew the Qatar ID:

• Passport, and a copy of it.
• The old Qatar ID card.
• Recent Photographs, with the following specifications (width: 38 mm, height: 48 mm, quality: 300).
